In this class, we will be looking hard at each other’s writing. We will gather information about what people are thinking about and report back!

1. Buttoned Up (JF List & Paragraph 500+):

  • List all of the issues your classmates brought up in the “Hot Button” discussion.
  • Write down how many times each issue was mentioned.
  • Use your evidence to answer the following question: “What are the most important issues on the minds of students in 8VA in 2017?

2. Getting Interesting (JF List & Paragraph 500+):

  • List all of the interests your classmates brought up in the “Fascination” discussion.
  • Write down how many times each interest was mentioned.
  • Use your evidence to answer the following question: “If we created study groups about popular interests in 8VA in 2017, what should they be?

2. Common Fears (JF List & Paragraph 500+):

  • List all of the fears your classmates brought up in the “Future Fears” discussion.
  • Write down how many times each fear was mentioned.
  • Use your evidence to answer the following question: “If we had to address three fears for students in 8VA as they finish the final year of middle school, what should they be?

Secret Objective: Gather evidence and draw conclusions based on the evidence.
